The program will range from historical to current works. We cordially invite composers and sound artists of all ages and backgrounds to submit their compositions for the listening lounge! The deadline for submissions is August 15, 2022.

Apply here!

Who can apply?
Established and emerging composers and sound artists are invited to submit their original works from the wide spectrum of electroacoustic music and noise work. Up to three works per composer are allowed.

The theme for the 2022 edition of the festival is RISE – rise, grow, emerge, curiosity fires our senses – upheavals as triggers of enthusiasm, resistance, departure, withdrawal, relief, shrugging of shoulders, shock: whether imperceptibly and subtly; suddenly and rebelliously; deliberately or impulsively. RISE focuses on the varying degrees to which contemporary music responds to change.

In addition, we honor our partners of the 2022 _openlabs in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, as well as our Guest Festival Nyege Nyege of Jinja, Uganda. In our curatorial efforts, we let ourselves be inspired by these geographies and their cultural currents.
