BiographyHelga Arias’s music tries to establish relations between acoustic and electronic resonance as well as to explore the microscopical variations of the sound phenomena. In her most recent pieces she also includes subtle theatrical aspects. Her music is edited by Babel Scores.
Helga Arias Parra, born in Bilbao, Spain, studied composition with Mario Garuti at the Conservatory G.Verdi Milan and Beat Furrer at the Kuntsuniversität Graz and computer music with Javier Torres Maldonado at the A. Boito Parma Conservatory and Karlheinz Essl and Johannes Kretz at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. She has been awarded in the Città di Udine, RCSM Victoria Eugenia de Granada contest, shut up and listen! Electro-acoustic festival, Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik Competition 2014, the College of Spain in Paris - INAEM 2016, and the 2nd Prize at the ACC International Composer’s Competition in South Korea. Her music has been performed by ensembles such as Ensemble Inercontemporain, Ensemble SurPlus, International Ensemble Modern Academy (IEMA), The Riot Ensemble, Vertixe Sonora, Nouvelle Ensemble Moderne, ECCE ensemble, Taller Sonoro, Sond’electric art ensemble, Ensemble Cepromusic, Ensemble Progress Berlin and others.
