Geoffa Fells
BiographyGeoffa Fells is a composer, visual artist and PhD researcher at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp. She uses a blend of traditional scoring, electronic music and multi-sensory art to compose new music that is inclusive of neurodiverse voices through collaborations with trauma survivors, projects with children´s needs and learning differences and composition and co-creation with her ensemble Nth Tangent for neurodiverse musicians. Fells completed a Masters and a Fellowship at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2017 where she received the school's 'Starred Award for Exceptional Performance'. In 2021 she received Arts Council funding to write, record and perform her Express Yourself Sensory Opera for children with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities). Her audiovisual work Geoffian Moon was selected for the eviMus international music festival in Germany. In 2022, Fells was one of 6 Guildhall graduates to be awarded the Futures Fund to write a new piece called Grounded Creation about music, self-regulation and feeling safe. Recently, Fells has again been awarded a substantial Arts Council award to extend this project through a series of compositions for co-creation projects with her ensemble Nth Tangent.
