| Description | The Open Exchange provides a space for conversations through which to engage more deeply with the central topics of the SONIC MATTER Festival. It offers artists involved with the festival a chance to talk and is open to the public. This year’s focus is on the idea of the archive. What is an archive? What is its purpose? How do artists work with archives? What does an archive have to provide to be able to preserve ephemeral art forms such as music? Who decides what enters an archive, and who determines the selection criteria? How are archives made accessible, and to whom?
